Vivaah

The wedding season is just over. The hangover effect leaves you wanting sweet eats at all times.  Not to mention, the sudden vacuum which hits after you have gotten used to entertaining groups of people, some of whom are only too pleased to recount some of your embarrassing “huggies nappy moments”, only because they haven’t seen you since then.  It is only coincidental that I happened to finish reading the latest book by Chetan Bhagat titled 2 states during this time.  Personally, I dislike Chetan bhagat and his kind, who go around misrepresenting the IIT clan while at the same time, cashing in on their “brand value” for personal gain. Like in his first book, he has beaten the IIT stereotype to death yet again in 2 states.  Despite all this prejudice, I found the story to be as compelling as it is simple and predictable.  The English is simple, sticking to acceptable conversational grammar, making it an ideal page turner.  And the entire marketing of the book is also not too elaborate that it leaves the reader with little to expect.  Priced strategically at Rs. 95, it is yet again one of those books you won’t think too much about while purchasing.  There is nothing special in the book, which makes you feel even you could have penned down the same story.  But you didn’t and he did and that’s the bottomline….
