Stumbled on this!

I stumbled upon this site http://www.breathingearth.net which displays a simulation of CO2 emissions of each country along with birth rates and death rates.
Here is what I found interesting:
USA
1 person dies here every 5.4 seconds
1 person born here every 12.8 seconds

India
1 person dies here every 25.8 seconds
1 person born here every 3.5 seconds

Gabon ( A possible future destination for me!)
1 person dies here every 2.5 hours
1 person born here every 31.5 minutes

Suprised? And to think that people visualize poverty, squalor, and violence on the mention of Africa... Anyone care to explain this "anomalous" observation?

Actually pretty easy. India's population is so much more than Gabon's, so a lot more people die/are born per second. It hasn't been normalised to the total population. Although the first statistic could be wrong because statistics show USA still has a positive population growth rate.
